Know Wonder

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo

Project Goals

The Museum of Life & Science in Durham, North Carolina is home to 84 acres of interactive science experiments, 60 species of animal wildlife and unlimited fun for both kids and adults. Our team was thrilled to partner with them in 2015 for a website redesign after the Museum decided that their site needed a fresh look.

Adventures abound here.

You’ll need days to fully experience all that this interactive, multi-sensory museum has to offer. Kids of all ages learn through play in a multitude of exhibits like the Launch Lab and Magic Wings Butterfly House.

Online experience that drives offline traffic

With the hopes of bringing the Museum to life, we began concepting a completely new site, rich with images. For an attraction that relies on local tourism, we knew many users would be exploring via a mobile device, so responsiveness was key.

Our goal was to excite each first-time visitor who say this site, making a direct impact on their desire to visit the attraction. Using the Museum’s bright brand colors, and displaying richly colored images of inside the exhibits, as well as a video showing ways the visitors would interact once inside, web visitors are given a chance to explore the Museum before they ever step foot on the property.

The home page makes it easy for first-time visitors to gather other important information like hours of operation, ticket prices and directions.

Headline

The Dixon's mobile app puts descriptions of each exhibit in the hands of visitors and members, along with the upcoming events calendar and other information like hours and admission prices. The beauty of Capacity is that it makes managing your digital assets so much easier on your musuem staff. The Dixon creates their new exhibits content and upcoming calendar, and this content is pushed to their website and mobile app, keeping information in sync.
