While pushing forward into the latest design and technology best-practices, the North Carolina Aquariums website provides an eye-catching platform to promote the aquariums, their vast collection of animals and species, numerous programs and events for all age groups, and commitment to education and conservation.
This was an exciting project because of the need for brand consistency that would fit the needs of four dinstinctly different locations. Visitors to the website can dive directly into the location of choice, or learn more about the conservation efforts of the aquariums overall. From the individual aquarium websites, visitors won't feel a disruption in the branding and tone of North Carolina Aquariums, regardless of which site they see.
Because there is such beautiful imagery available to us, the design team chose vibrant, full-width photos and videos to be featured throughout the site. These visuals instantly connect with viewers and just make the sites more fun. Bringing in the location's Instagram feeds also brings vibrancy to the site, and showcases the fun others are having at the aquarium.
Membership and educational opportunities are presented to visitors as they navigate through different areas of the sites, enticing online viewers to plan their next visit or field trip.
